Until the fifteenth century the town was called "Fronde Corgnali" and only later it was called "Fonte Corgnale” .
Very striking are the churches of “San Michele Arcangelo”, a small church located directly below the walls characterized by beautifuls frescoes of the XV century, and the church of “S. Barbara”, situated in a large square from which starts the road that leads to the castle and that also connects the neighboring countries of Monteguiduccio and Mombaroccio.
