Fossombrone is a medieval old town lying on the slope of a hill and dominated by a citadel and the ruins of the Malatesta Fortress. The modern part of the town arise on both sides of the river Metauro (with Apartments Marche). Viewed from afar, Fossombrone is characterized by sloping roofs from which the church towers stand out.
