Urbania and its pottery

Urbania is a rich town on the upper Metauro Valley, about 60 km from the sea, defended by a castle fortified by walls over them flows the river Metauro. The city has a great artistic and architectural heritage: the Palazzo Ducale, the Bramante theater, the Cathedral of St. Christopher, the cemetery of mummies and more.

Urbania is also famous worldwide for its pottery work and it is one of the 26 Italian municipalities with the ownership of “land of ancient ceramic tradition”. There are numerous opportunities to experience this city, among which there is the National Day of the Epiphany which is held every year from the 2^nd  to the 6^th of January.
